Cristina's fascination with sound started with a childhood injury that temporarily damaged her right ear. This led her to an early awareness of sound behaviour and perception.
In her teens Cristina discovered music learning both Guitar and Piano but it was the music's construction that fascinated her most, how each element fitted together to make a harmonious whole.
It was obvious then that she would gravitate towards production and did so working in radio. She quickly progressed from assistant to Radio Producer, even crossing the microphone to present some of her own programs, both set apart by her innovative use of music and sounds complimenting the human voice.
Cristina studied at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts receiving a Diploma in Pop Music and Sound Technology and BA (Hons) in Sound Technology. However Post Production was always going to be her final destination having worked in studios such as Twickenham Film Studios and Abbey Road Studios where she worked on productions like The Good Thief, I Capture the Castle, The Hours and The Constant Gardner.
Cristina completed her MA in Audio Production at the University of Westminster and established 5A in 2004 with the commitment to produce the highest standards in audio post production. 5A Studios has recently opened its third location in the West End of London.
For her keen understanding that even one sound can enhance or subtract mood and meaning within the total structure of a film, Christina Aragon has been selected by TheWIFTS Foundation to receive the 2013 Inaugural Best Sound Award.
