It is a great honor for me to receive this Lifetime Achievement Award from the Women's International Film & Television Showcase, it only saddens me that my husband, Tony Blanco, cannot be with me to share this moment, as he would be as honored and proud as I am.
I congratulate you on the beautiful initiative to support and celebrate the dedication, passion and integrity of women in film everywhere, and I thank TheWIFTS Board for considering me worthy of this precious award. I am very sorry to be unable to receive it in person. Thank you!

The Otilia Animal Advocacy Award - White God
Eszter Gyárfás Producer
Producer Eszter Gyárfás, together with producer Viktória Petrányi, are the recipients of TheWIFTS Otilia Animal Advocacy Award for White God, a brilliant, touching and poignant film about the deep emotional connection and relationship between a girl and her dog.
Producer Eszter Gyárfás says: "The most important thing for both of us is to work on projects that we believe in, projects that we can support and live for with all our passion.
"White God was a very important film for both of us. What at first glance seemed almost impossible turned out very challenging and yet absolutely rewarding.
"In research for a theater play, directed by Kornél Mundruczó - who also directed White God - we went to a dog shelter house in Budapest and completely freaked out. We were in shock for weeks – and also totally touched. We felt such shame that this can happen - dogs living behind bars in terrible conditions. So when Kornél decided to shoot a movie about a dog in the streets of Budapest, we were both absolutely on board - despite the difficulties that we knew we were facing.
"A very important lesson that we learned is that humans and animals can co-operate beautifully. Dogs actually like to cooperate with humans, they love us, and on set they gave a lot of energy; by the end we knew all of them name by name, all 200 of them.
"We had a beautiful experience, learned a lot about dogs - and through them about ourselves - and through our adoption program we helped to connect the ones without shelter to families."
