NORWEGIAN DIRECTOR SARA JOHNSEN HONORED BY TheWIFTS FOUNDATION

The Women's International Film Television Showcase will honor Sara Johnsen, one of Norway's most talented young filmmakers with it's 2012 Jury Award for "All That Matters Is Past".

The film which is both written and directed by Ms. Johnsen is her third feature and premiered at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

" All That Matters Is Past" saturates the viewer with powerful and thought provoking visual imagery presented in a disconnected timeline to unearth the mystery surrounding what leads up to something that happened in the forest last summer. It explores the primal and visceral connection between emotion and nature, dark and light, beauty and decay. The rawness and purity of these images interspersed with fine performances by Marie Bonnevie, Kristoffer Joner, David Dencik and Marie Heiskanen and a well crafted script work together to unfold a tragic tale of romance, remembrance and remorse. Sara Johnsen was born in Oslo and studied literature and media at the University of Oslo and directing at the Norwegian Film School. The Women's International Film and Television Foundation (TheWIFTS.org) is an organization dedicated to bringing women together from all walks of life through the art form of Film and Television, Business, the Humanities and the Environment.

The WIFTS Foundation International Visionary Awards, now in it's fifth year, will be held on December 1, 2012 at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles with Red Carpet Interviews beginning at 1pm followed by the awards ceremony at 2pm.
